The purpose of this work is to study Kurdish publishing during the Ottoman Empire. The description of the Kurdish books that were published between 1844-1923 within the Ottoman border, the recognition of the publishers of these books and the relationship of these people with the Kurdish associations are the main topics of this work. For this reason, 40 Kurdish books of that period are introduced in the 3rd and 4th chapters. Also, in the second part, an attempt is made to show the relationship between the publication of Kurdish books and the development of Kurdish identity in the Ottoman period. Therefore, in this section, the Kurdish associations of that time and their periodical publications, the Kurdish press of the Ottoman era in general, the description of the Kurdish intellectuals/nationalists of that time and some important events are discussed. It is also with this purpose that two people are mentioned who had a great impact on the Kurdish culture of that period: Ahmed Khani and Haji Qadir Koyi.
We can say that there are two sides to this work: The practical side tries to publish a list of Kurdish books from the Ottoman period within the framework of the work, and the theoretical side tries to clarify part of the idea of "Kurdishness" and its relations with the press. do The main sources for doing this were the publications of that time. Magazines, newspapers, books and regulations of that period, and sometimes Ottoman archive documents showed us the way.
